Are you puzzled about planned giving and where to start?

This very basic seminar will help answer the following:

  •          What is planned giving?
  •          Who gives a planned gift?
  •          What is the Charity Child?
  •          What is the role of the charity, legal counsel, financial planner, accountant and the executor?
  •          Who is most likely to leave a planned gift?
  •          What does an average planned gift look like?
  •          Types of planned gifts
  •          Can one create zero net tax through an estate gift?

Who should attend? – Staff from various charities, legal counsels, financial planners and accountants are welcome.

Presenter:

Nena Jocic-Andrejevic, BA, CFRE, is currently Director of Development, Faculty of Law at Thompson Rivers University.  Nena has over 27 years of experience working in fundraising and over 20 years in gift planning.  She has established planned giving programs with various organizations in Alberta and BC, as a staff and as a consultant. She has worked with various organizations spanning from post-secondary institutions, municipalities, emergency services, animal welfare, health foundations, social services, immigration and settlement, persons with disabilities (physical and developmental), religious organizations, arts, culture and heritage. Nena was also a consultant to a number of foundations. Nena is a certified fundraising executive, a member of Canadian Association of Gift Planners since 1999, and a member of Association of Fundraising Professionals since 1997. Nena has presented at many conferences and has organized and presented over 40 donor focused planned giving seminars in partnership with financial planners, accountants and legal counsels.
