Join us for a Full Day Workshop on Planned Giving!
Not able to attend the full day? Come join us for lunch and a presentation.
About the Workshop: (8:00 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. includes lunch and presentation)
Are you ready for a planned giving program? Are your donors ready? Should you have a person dedicated to planned giving, or can it be one of several responsibilities? Is it part of the annual giving program or major gifts? How is planned giving measured? The answers to these questions will be different for every charitable organization and understanding the differences can be the key to success. With this information, you'll be able to determine how to gauge your readiness and decide what level of commitment will be required for your special situation.
What's new? The legacy giving landscape is changing quickly in Canada. We're discovering the most effective planned giving program might be the simplest one. In this workshop we will discuss the case, the elements and the best practices of an effective planned giving program for a small or large shop.
This Planned Giving 101 workshop was developed by and for fundraisers in Alberta, and will help you ensure your charity is ready to receive your donors' most significant life-time gifts. Full Day Workshop to include the following sessions:
- The Changing Climate of Estate Giving
- What if a Donor Calls
- The small type, legalese, and, yawn, technical stuff
- Marketing your Planned Giving Program
- One-on-One Meetings, Donor Recognition and Stewardship
- Gift Administration
- Q&A
About the Luncheon presentation: (12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.)
You're handling annual giving, major giving, stewardship and everything else, and now you're being asked to handle planned giving too! There's nothing to fear. Planning giving is not complex. It's just marketing. Here's an easy three-step program to ensure you're efficiently balancing your time to create opportunities for your donors to make the gift of a lifetime. Even with limited time, resources and help, you can confidently work with your volunteers and donors, and their legal advisors, to create their ultimate charitable gift.
