Event Info
Summary:

Presentation Description:  This is a conversation that's designed to be given to an audience of donors to help educate, empower and inspire action.  Although there's lots of content that I hope you find personally or professionally useful and interesting, I encourage you to think about how this presentation might be relevant for your donors.

Topics covered include a brief overview of the charitable sector; why people give (or don't give); standard giving vehicles; how charitable donation tax credits work; strategies to maximize the economic impact of gifting; using insurance for gifting; and a deeper dive into the mechanics of Donor Advised Funds.

Speaker Bio:  Niel MacIntyre has a 13-year tenure in the Canadian financial services industry, including nearly a decade in Toronto where he worked on Bay St. as a research analyst for a multi-billion dollar institutional investment fund.  After returning to his hometown of Halifax in 2019, Niel changed his focus to helping individuals and families find the best way to integrate philanthropy into their wealth management plans.

Niel holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the Master Financial Advisor in Philanthropy (MFA-P) designation and is a candidate for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.  He received his Bachelor of Commerce (Dean's List) from Mount Allison University.

Parking: There is metered parking in the small lot behind the building off Oxford Street – you need to have coins for these meters
