Adding Value with the Philanthropic Conversation

Registration is closed for this event

featuring Ruth MacKenzie - President & CEO, Canadian Association of Gift Planners

For both charities and financial advisors, relationships with donors/clients are key. Deeper relationships lead to larger charitable gifts and more business.

Having conversations on philanthropy with your clients can both strengthen your relationship and differentiate you as a financial advisor. It's something your clients are looking for, but also an area where many advisors aren't meeting their clients' needs.

In this session, you'll learn about a research initiative by the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) to access the potential for advisors to lead philanthropic discussions with high net-worth clients. The study also explored giving behaviours, the incidence and nature of conversations on philanthropy, as well as barriers and benefits of the philanthropic conversation for both advisors and high net-worth individuals.

The presenter will also share tips and strategies on how to launch those discussions and connect with your clients' values in a way that will drive their philanthropic giving and strengthen your relationship.
