When a charity receives a gift from an Estate, it comes with rights and obligations. Making sure the income tax receipt is for the right amount and issued in the name of the right donor is essential, as is understanding the implications of executing a Release of the Estate Trustee. We’ll discuss the background, the theory, and the many challenges in practice that make these things harder than they sound!
