Glenn will review some tax-efficient charitable giving strategies using donations of appreciated shares. He will highlight how RRIF withdrawals are fully taxable and how donors are looking for ways to pay less taxes. Glenn will share his latest strategy for transferring shares to charities or a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) without taxes on the share gifts. This allows the donor to withdraw funds from the RRIF without paying taxes, and then use a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) portfolio to make larger charitable gifts with greater impact. The discussion focuses on coordinating these steps to maximize philanthropic impact while improving tax efficiency, leading to bigger, better gifts with smart tax planning.
