Welcome to the Canadian Association of Gift Planners, Nova Scotia Chapter.
CAGP Nova Scotia is an organization for fundraisers, professional advisors, lawyers, and accountants- to network, share ideas, and develop knowledge of current issues in gift planning.
The Nova Scotia Chapter hosts ‘lunch and learn’ meetings the last Thursday of each month (summer months excluded) where members connect with their colleagues and learn from expert speakers. We invite anyone throughout the Maritimes with an interest in gift planning to attend these sessions. There are several advantages to membership, including a discount on the registration fee for both chapter event and those held nationally.
In 1998, the Nova Scotia Roundtable (now Chapter) held the first LEAVE A LEGACY™ program in Canada, with 98 charities in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island participating. The program, which provides information to the public about estate planning and encourages them to make a gift in their will to a charity of their choosing, continues to experience success today. Survey Results
The Chapter’s Leave a Legacy Co-Chairs recently arranged for a question about leaving a gift in a will to be included in a survey to Nova Scotians by Corporate Research Associates (CRA). The same question was also asked in a CRA survey in 2009. Both sets of survey results, as well as the study methodology, can be found below.
