  • Tax strategies and benefits will be illustrated to demonstrate how you can build your brand as you help facilitate and customize a win-win experience that redirects personal tax obligations to a cause important to your client.

Peter Hobb

A leader at the firm since 1983, Peter is focused on service excellence. In addition to being a partner, he heads Collins Barrow Durham Consultants Inc., working closely with clients to help them identify opportunities and develop business strategies to grow their businesses profitability.

Peter has been published in CA Magazine and local newspapers and has appeared on local television reviewing topics ranging from building a successful business to income tax planning. Additionally, he often presents on these topics to small and medium sized business owners and advisors. 

Peter became a Chartered Professional Accountant in 1976 and a Certified Financial Planner in 1999. Before moving to the Durham Region, he worked at a national firm of Chartered Accountants in Toronto and conducted accounting research with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Peter is the past Chair of the Planned Giving Committee at the Memorial Hospital Foundation in Bowmanville and currently serves as Chair of Finance. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology in Business Management from Ryerson University.


Serena Hak

serena_portraits.jpgSerena started her philanthropic journey at Free The Children in 2009, and has since become an Associate at Stonegate Private Counsel and a Partner at The Donor Motivation Program® Canada.  The Donor Motivation Program® is a national organization committed to engaging donors in the philanthropic conversation.  She is passionate about breaking down the barriers between the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Through her current role as CAGP (Canadian Association of Gift Planners) GTA Chair, she hopes to set an example of a collaboration and innovation, in order to foster new ideas and partnerships. She is also involved with the George Hull Centre for Children and Families, The Toronto Foundation, and The Stop Community Food Centre. Outside of work, she loves trotting around Toronto with her beagle, Bogart.

Tickets: CAGP members - $55; non-members - $70; CAGP member exclusive Season's Pass

 (Note: Special meal requests that exceed the cost of the ticket price, may incur an added fee).

Registered but you cannot attend? Substitutions or cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the event. An invoice will be sent to guests who have not notified the CAGP GTA.
