This workshop will discuss how to talk about estate planning and planned giving when there is not a “Next Generation” to leave assets to. Practical suggestions will be offered for how you, as a professional, can guide childless couples and singles to think about, talk about and plan for their legacy so they have a sense of completion and peace of mind. 

Amy S. D’Aprix, MSW, PhD, CSA      

Dr. Amy D’Aprix, a life transitions expert, is an internationally renowned authority on lifestyle issues relating to retirement, estate planning, aging, caregiving, and family dynamics.  “Dr, Amy”, as she is affectionately known, has worked in the financial services industry for more than a decade, both with advisors and as a keynote speaker at client events. She has been a consultant for over a decade with BMO Financial Group, and is also a Life Transitions Consultant with MD Financial Management Services. Through her work with BMO Global Asset Management she has worked with numerous financial services firms both in the US and Canada. She has also recorded several podcasts for Money Mindset: A Podcast Miniseries for Financial Advisors. Dr. Amy teaches and coaches advisors to help them have deeper, more authentic relationships with their clients. She helps them better understand and respond to the emotional, family, and practical implications of life transitions and then teaches them how to tie those back to financial or legal implications, thus making financial planning and estate planning more relevant and imperative for clients. She is known for her ability to empower advisors with communication tools that authentically fit their style and can be utilized immediately. She has presented to financial professionals and attorneys throughout North America.
