Amy Florian Bio 

Amy Florian is the CEO of Corgenius and an expert in life transition. She is an acclaimed speaker and author, and has published over 250 articles and the multi-award-winning books No Longer Awkward: Communicating with Clients through the Toughest Times of Life and A Friend Indeed: Help Someone You Love When They Grieve. She has been honored with many awards for her ground-breaking work, including:

Amy holds a Master’s Degree and is a Fellow in Thanatology (the highest level of certification in the field of grief studies).

She taught a graduate class at Loyola University of Chicago for almost 10 years, she has worked with over 2,500 grieving people, and she consults with firms, corporations, and individuals across the country and the globe.

Diane Tom Bio

Diane oversees the Trusts and Estates business at Fiduciary Trust Canada.  She has extensive experience supporting a diverse range of interprovincial and international trust and estate planning, substitute decision making, business succession and philanthropic strategies.  In collaboration with clients and their professional advisors, Diane has been involved in structuring and implementing creative and personalized insurance, succession, accounting and taxation plans to manage corporate entities, real estate holdings as well as interesting array of assets including dairy quotas, mineral rights, airplanes, vintage car collections and antiques.

In addition to being an alumna of the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto, Diane is a TEP member and holds a law degree from Queen’s University.

Diane will discuss:

  1. Practical issues and approaches to estate planning, beyond the technical and substantive matters
  2. Review common practical issues that should be considered when estate planning documents are being drafted and implemented
