“The Ethics of the Planned Giving Visit” Panel Discussion

Location:  Best Western Chocolate Lake, 20 St Margaret’s Bay Road, Halifax

With a diverse background in non-profit management, fundraising and communications, and his interest in community building and social enterprise, CRAIG JOHNSON has agreed to moderate our upcoming panel discussion focused on the ethics associated with issues regarding elderly and/or vulnerable donors.  The panelists offering insight from the perspectives of legal, social, and public safety and security are:

  • TANYA L. BUTLER, TEP is an associate in the Halifax office of Cox & Palmer. Her practice focuses on private client work in estates and trusts, including all aspects of estate planning, probate and administration, and litigation.  Tanya holds the designation of TEP (Trust and Estate Planner) from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and sits on the executive of the STEP Atlantic Branch.
  • SERENA LEWIS, RSW is a palliative social worker with the Colchester East Hants Hospice.  Serena is passionate about supporting individuals and families through palliative and end-of-life care.  Her role provides a unique perspective on the complexities of aging, family dynamic and end-of-life issues.
  • Constables STEVE SAUNDERS and MICHELLE EVERSON of the Halifax Regional Police.
