Join us for a one-day hands-on workshop where we will help you create a plan and develop promotional tools to ensure your donors get excited about supporting your organization through legacy giving. You will leave the day with templates, prepared pieces of your plan and tools that will result in more gifts to your legacy program.
This workshop is designed for those who are new to Planned Giving and those with fundraising experience now venturing into the Planned Giving arena.

Paul is joining Edmonton Fund Development professionals to share the latest trends and impacts of philanthropy in the Canadian landscape. Paul Nazareth is a leader in Canada’s philanthropic sector with over 19 years’ experience.  Paul has been a philanthropic advisor with Scotia Wealth and spent over a decade with charities like the University of Toronto, the 230 Churches of the Catholic Church of Greater Toronto, and most recently with Canada Helps. He is on the board of several charities, is Chair of the Advisory Board at the Humber College postgraduate fundraising program, a speaker in every Province with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a national faculty instructor with CAGP as well as technical and tax leaders like Advocis, CPA and Estate Planning Councils. Paul writes on philanthropy for a variety of publications as well as appearing on national television speaking about charitable giving.
 
Brian Shea: Brian Shea is now in his 29th year as a professional fundraiser and, for 28 of those years, planned giving has been a key element of his fundraising skillset. Brian has been a sessional instructor at MacEwan University in their Voluntary Sector Management Program teaching the planned giving component of the program. In 2000, he co-write and co-developed the curriculum for the “new” CAGP Planned Giving for Canadians course. He then had the privilege of teaching the course for several years. Today, he is Assoc. Director, Planned Giving at the U of A.
Kathy Fitzgerald: Kathy Fitzgerald has worked as a professional fundraiser in Edmonton since 1993. During this time she served in a variety of fundraising roles with organizations of varying sizes. Throughout Kathy’s career planned giving has been a special area of interest for her, and she has always incorporated planned giving into her work regardless of the positions she has held. Kathy is currently the Interim Director, Planned Giving at the University of Alberta.
Leona Yez: 20+ years working with not-for-profit organizations to increase capacity, clarify messages and develop comprehensive fund development and communications programs. Sherry Schaefer: Specializing in small to medium shop fundraising techniques, Sherry’s 30 years in healthcare philanthropy have resulted in several capital campaigns, and many equipment and program projects that have resulted in impactful living for seniors in care. Her specific interest in planned giving has led her to Chairing the Ab North CAGP, for the past three years.
