Planned Giving Debate: Donors in Their 30s and 40s: Untapped Gold Mine or Waste of Time?

Tabs

Event Info
Summary:

New Canadian research from CAGP suggests planned giving efforts are overlooking people in their 30s and 40s. But in unprecedented times when resources are tight, is this a group we can afford to focus on? Or are our resources better focused on people making and revising wills in their 60s and 70s?

Join father-daughter fundraisers Fraser and Rory Green for a lively debate, and have a chance to weigh in yourself.

In this debate you will hear the pros and cons of marketing to donors who are both younger and older than 55. Our experts will also share their top tips on how to be successful working with these different groups.

Fraser Green, Chief Stratagist and Smartypants at Goodworks, is widely considered one of Canada’s most strategic and creative thinkers in the fundraising sector today. He believes deeply that creating a superb donor experience is the key to great-fundraising and that listening carefully to donors is an all-important first step in doing so. When he is not staring at his laptop, Fraser loves to bike and ski, bend his body into ridiculous yoga postures, play his guitars and generally explore the world around him.

Rory Green is the Associate Director, Gift & Estate Planning at Simon Fraser University. She has also worked in major and corporate giving at the British Columbia Institute for Technology and the Canadian Cancer Society. Rory’s passion is donors. How to listen to them. How to talk to them. How to help them feel joy through philanthropy. In her spare time, she can be found chasing around her 3 year old, hiking in BC’s beautiful mountains and drinking a little too much coffee.
