Event Info
Summary:

Please join CAGP London and the Estate Planner's Council of London for dinner and an informative session presented by Terrance Carter, of Carters Professional Corporation on Monday, October 21. The topic this evening will be "Investment challenges and Opportunities for Charities including Donor Advised Funds and an Update on the Ontario Not for Profit Act".

Charity boards and their advisors need to know the rules that apply to the investment of charitable funds, particularly during uncertain times. This session will provide an outline of the legal requirements that apply to the investment of charitable property, including the prudent investor standard under the Trustee Act and delegation of investment decision making, social investments under the Charities Accounting Act, program related investments under the Income Tax Act, as well as some dos and don’ts with regards to building investment capital through donor advised funds. The session will also provide a brief update on the ONCA.

We hope you will join us!
