Planned giving is to a large extent a discussion of gifts of assets. One of the most common and valuable assets Canadians hold is their primary residence, recreational property and land for agricultural use. As boomers age, many of these properties will be disposed of during the next few decades or remain as part of their estate to benefit family and charitable beneficiaries.
Grant and Michelle will bring their expertise to this topic having worked with conservation and environmental organizations as fundraisers and gift planners covering the identification, solicitation and securing of gifts of land. Specific topics to be covered will include residual interest gifts, examples of green gifts of land and the importance of a gift acceptance policy to any organization interested in maximizing their income through gifts of assets. The role of a gift planner in land gift discussions with charity boards, management and staff will also be outlined to ensure that your organization (big or small) is ready to receive these lucrative gifts and the transformational opportunity that they represent.
