Planned Giving for Canadians 2009 ***Originally released on CD-Rom***

The 2009 update of the revised version of Planned Giving for Canadians has recently been recently completed by Dr. Frank Minton, Senior Advisor of PG Calc – a longstanding supporter and FRIEND of CAGP.

Planned Giving for Canadians is an integral part of CAGP Membership. Many members of CAGP have relied on the book since it was first introduced in 1994, and they now look forward to the annual updated version of the revised edition that was produced in 2007. The book has always been a very important reference for gift planners in Canada. Dr. Minton created the book Planned Giving for Canadians back in 1997 when there were very few resources in gift planning for Canada, and it remains one of the main resources for CAGP members.

The book was originally co-authored by Dr. Minton and Lorna Somers, and the two of them together published hard-copy editions in 1994 and 1997.

Since many changes in tax law occurred after the 1997 edition, Dr. Minton produced a substantially revised edition in 2007 that incorporated all changes up to that date. He updates the book annually to keep it current. Publication is now electronic to make it easier to do annual updates as well as perform key word searches.

An important feature of the 2009 update is the inclusion of French translations of many of the gift agreements, forms, and other documents that appear in the appendices. These, like the English versions, can be downloaded and used by a charity.

The Canadian Association of Gift Planners is pleased to announce that this latest update of Planned Giving for Canadians is now available for download through the CAGP-ACPDP™ national website Members Only section. Login to the Members section to access.

This new online download format will allow for easier updates and additions. CAGP-ACPDP™ members will automatically receive emails outlining annual updates to the publication. Providing this download is just another way CAGP-ACPDP™ has increased member benefits over the past few years.
