Common Bursary Questions:
Gift Planning Courses
Forms: If you applied for a bursary and cannot attend if you do not receive the bursary, you do not need to fill out a registration form. We will get all your information from you if it is required.
Spots: Since we offer bursaries, we hold one (1) spot for the recipient, so technically, only 43 people can “register” and one (1) receives a bursary. So do not worry about needing to “hold” a spot.
The CAGP-ACPDP™ does not recommend registering for the course and then canceling in the event you do not get a bursary. As explained, we reserve one (1) spot for the bursary recipient and if you absolutely cannot go, please do not hold the spot “just in case” by registering. Refunding your registratoin costs time and money for all parties involved. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact Sharyon Smith, National Program Coordinator , 888-430-9494 ext 2 or via email.
National Bursaries
Purpose
CAGP-ACPDP™ has for a number of years offered bursaries towards our National conference and comprehensive course on gift planning (Original Gift Planning Course). The purpose of these bursaries is to promote the professional development of CAGP-ACPDP™ members regardless of financial means.
Policy Statement
- All applicants must be a CAGP-ACPDP™ member for at least three months before applying for a bursary.
- All members in good standing are welcome to apply and will be selected upon the current criteria.
- Bursaries will assist in covering registration fees only. Travel and accommodation expenses for courses or conferences are not covered as part of any bursary.
- The successful recipient of a bursary will be ineligible for a further bursary for five years.
- The applicant must provide a signature of their manager, CEO or Chair on the application in order to authorize receipt of the bursary and to avoid duplicating funds to the applicant – from the organization and from the CAGP-ACPDP™ bursary program.
- The bursary selection committee is formed through the National Education Committee. The criteria is determined by this Committee and communicated publicly prior to bursary deadline.
- The number of bursaries and the value of the bursary are to be determined by the Executive Director in compliance with the budget.
