CAGP-ACPDP™ Strategic Plan
The CAGP-ACPDP™ Mission, Vision, Beliefs, and Values were determined by the CAGP-ACPDP™ Board of Directors in November 2007. The Mission, Vision and Outcomes were revisited and revised in November 2009.
The Philosophy and Governance 101 Document was established during the October-November 2008 Board Meeting.

- That philanthropy can change the world for good and our members are the force (key)
- CAGP-ACPDP™ is the most authoritative, credible leader and resource for gift planning in Canada

- CAGP-ACPDP™ is recognized as the leader in advancing gift planning in Canada by its members and by two national organizations
- There are 3000 members
- CAGP-ACPDP™ is instrumental in new legislation being passed: Charitable Remainder Trusts and gifts of real estate
- There are at least twenty positive major media reports about gift planning and/or CAGP-ACPDP™ per year
- Explore the opportunities for CAGP-ACPDP™ to be the leader in research in gift planning in Canada.
The purpose of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners is to support philanthropy by fostering the development and growth of gift planning. The Association creates awareness, provides education and is an advocate of charitable giving.
The Association brings together professionals from various disciplines to ensure that the gift planning process achieves a fair and proper balance between the interests of donors and the aims and objectives of registered charitable organizations in Canada in accordance with the CAGP-ACPDPTM Code of Ethics.
Established in1993 and incorporated in October 1997, the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP-ACPDP™) is a federally registered non-profit corporation with no charitable status and is primarily funded by members’ dues.
Philosophy
CAGP/ACPDP™ is guided by the Philosophy that we will thrive when:

· We develop policies and practices that are flexible;
· We nurture differences and promote the advancement of all people who contribute to the organization;
· We recognize that the fundamental vitality and strength of CAGP-ACPDP™ lies in our people…employees as well as members who volunteer their time and expertise to help in the delivery of CAGP’s mission.
We believe our values to be essential in operating CAGP/ACPDP™. By living our values, we will achieve not only our mission but also, ultimately, our vision.
